History

1992

The founding

The iron-goods factory was founded by Karl Huperz (†) on 13.11.1992 and was then taken over by Klaus Hilleke (†) and Ludger Weier. H+W Metallverarbeitung GmbH is founded. The first products are stone, anchoring and U-bolts, as well as rope tillers and diverse levelling equipment for road construction.

1995

New product

Our revolutionary process for repairing and maintaining shot sleeves is launched on the market, and would go on to become the leading global process over the following years.

1997

Continuous growth

The range of machines is increased across the board and partially automated.

2001

End and beginning

The two business partners decide to go their separate ways. The company is renamed “Weier Verbindungstechnik GmbH” and then managed by Ludger Weier on his own.

2002

Renewable energies

The product range is restructured. The main focus is now put on production of safety-relevant connection elements, especially for the wind-energy sector (supplier for wind-energy plants).

The company is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.

2007

Everything is new

After only just 6 months of construction, the move from Lennestadt to Drolshagen 35-km away was completed. At the same time, marketing strategies and the image of the company changed massively, accompanied by a renewed corporate restructuring into “Weier GmbH”.

2008

Hightech processing

In order to further increase the technological advantage in the area of the “Füllkammer Instandsetzung“, we now use 7-axle welding robots.

2009

Economic crisis

…also didn’t leave us unaffected. But instead of just resigning ourselves to the situation, we did the direct opposite instead. Thanks to targeted marketing and the most extensive participation in trade-fairs that we had undertaken in our existence. All these efforts saw us come out the other side of the crisis even stronger than before.

2011

Our first trade-fair stand for the area “Verbindungselement” (Connection elements) at the Fastener Fair in Stuttgart.

2012

Expansion of production

We constructed a production hall with a surface area of 1300qm² for our screw production. This was also the spatial separation of the areas “Verbindungselemente“ and "Füllkammer Instandsetzung“.

2015

Introduction of the ERP system

In order to also bring our administration up to the high level of our automation, we introduced a modern ERP system that makes it possible for us to plan, control and monitor all ongoing processes even more efficiently than before.
